Gift Cards

What are the DFO Gift Cards?

The DFO Gift Cards are alphanumeric codes, each one of them comprising 15 characters combining numbers and letters.

Generally speaking, they work like Coupons, even though there are some additional features that have been implemented. For instance, Gift Cards function as DFO prepaid cards that can be recharged, giving customers the opportunity to reuse them for more than just one-time purchases.

The 3 ways to use Gift Cards

  1. As a coupon to get a discount for a purchase; customers receive a code that can be used in the next purchases to get a discount. Hence, orders are paid with two different payment methods: the customers’ credit/debit card and the Gift Card, which covers just a percentage of the order’s total amount.

  2. As a standalone offline payment method to buy products and create orders.

  3. As a good, which means being sold like any other product or service through DFO funnels.

Please note that CRM Payment Processors recognize and treat the Gift Cards as a payment method, which means that payments and refunds are available inside the Payments API.

The goal behind the Gift Card

One of the ways employed by DFO to increase sales is using Affiliates Marketing, whose objective is to bring new and more traffic to the DFO’s offers. However, the fees that DFO is paying for the service provided by affiliates are considerable.

Therefore, one of the ideas behind Gift Cards is remarketing traffic/customers to place new orders in the DFO funnels without the need for intermediaries sources like affiliates.

The first-time customers (the traffic), which have been redirected to DFO offers, will receive a Gift Card of $X amount to be able to spend on their next purchase still in the DFO sales channels. Thus, this traffic will be attracted to DFO sales without the need for affiliates and so to pay the intermediate for his/her service.
