What are Email Variables?
Email variables are used within e-commerce automated notification and marketing emails to add customized details to each message.
For example, when confirmation emails are sent to customers after an order has been placed, the variables @CustomerFullName, @CustomerShippingAddress, @CustomerShippingAddress, etc. will be replaced with the actual customer’s order details.
Consequently, these email templates will complete each of these variables the moment the email is automatically generated by the system, creating a customized message for each customer without any human interaction.
This particular feature about new variables has been developed to enrich the Bundle email templates with all necessary information about the order, products, and the payment. The variables are located, in the email, within @beginloop and @endloop in order to be effective.
Specifically, those new variables have been made for regular orders, upsells, and pre-orders.
Some of the variables that have been created are:
@TotalShippingAmount which refers to the amount the customer pay upfront to guarantee the product
@LastOrderTotalRemainingAmount that is the amount that still has to be paid, which is charged when the order is shipped
@OrderAmount the grand total of the order.
An additional element added to this bundle emails is the Payment History section, where all payment information is provided: the date (@PreSaleFSWBillingDate), the Payment Method (@PreSaleFSWDescriptor ending with), the total amount charged (@PreSaleFSWPrice), and the last four digits of the card used (@PaymentInformation).
