How taxes are calculated in the orders into CRM?

In CRM have been implemented two different tax providers, such as:

  1. the DFO one

  2. Avalara.

These two Tax Providers are working differently. Avalara is a third parties provider that has been integrated into CRM.

The DFO tax system allows users to set the percentage of tax into the Sales Model section.

Each Sale Model has a section called: Tax configuration, where users can easily set the following:

  • The Tax Percentage

  • The Country or Countries.

A more user-friendly UI has been recently developed in order to simplify the way users can include or not any of those two tax providers into campaigns.

How to set up Taxes into a CRM Campaign?

Please follow the below steps to set the taxes into the campaign.

Instructions

  1. From the left side Menu, click on Campaign Management

  2. Select Settings

  3. On the right side of the page, please select one of the campaigns already available or click on the Create New button to build a new campaign

  4. Once you are on the Campaign page, please go to the right side of the page and select the Campaign Settings, from the listed topics

  5. Under the Campaign Settings, there is a section called: Payment Settings, on this part there a few feasible options, such as:

  • the Charge Tax. switch On/Off button to include or not the Tax Provider in the Campaign

  • the Tax included in price? switch On/Off button to have the tax embedded into the order grand total (for example:  the product is sold for $100 on the website, customers are paying $100 and on this $100, there is the percentage of taxes already) or separate from the cost of the product (for example the product cost $90 on the website, but at the end, customers are charged $100, because $10 are taxes).

  • Tax Provider with a small drop-down menu, where the user can choose between DFO tax provider or Avalara.

6. Once all the campaign and tax provider details have been set, click on the green Save button on the right side of the page.

Please note that if DFO has been set as Tax Provider, users can add the specific Sales Model to the Campaign, scrolling down from the Campaign Settings to the Product area, on this area, there is a field where the Sale Model can be chosen (see below example).
